Susquehanna River Sports Park Feasibility Study

Susquehanna River Sports Park

A public - private collaboration between Bucknell University, Susquehanna University and the Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association, this project seeks to design and build a boathouse and rowing facility and establish central Pennsylvania as a national venue for rowing training and competitions. Lake Augusta, located at the confluence of the North and West Branch of the Susquehanna River, provides miles of flatwater rowing and the region’s close proximity to east coast metropolitan areas and central location within the state makes this an excellent venue for schoolastic, collegiate rowing and potential olympic team training. The site contains historic canal remnants and strategic connections to neighborhoods - offering an excellent oppoprtunity to develop a riverfront public park.
